Foch Hospital’s International Division has formed a strategic partnership with the Beninese Ministry of Health to provide local support and improve oncology care in the country.
This agreement reflects the commitment of Foch Hospital, a French Healthcare Association member, to global healthcare. It concerns two reference establishments in Benin : the Universiy Hospital Center Hubert Koutoukou Maga (CNHU-HKM) and the Cotonou’s University Hospital Center Mère-Enfant (Mother-Child).
Proximity care for cancer patients in Benin
Led by a team of oncology specialists from Foch Hospital, the project aims to improve chemotherapy management, optimize patient admission processes and streamline patient care. Focusing on the CNHU-HKM and the CHU Mère-Enfant in Cotonou, the aim is to meet the country’s most urgent medical needs.
As part of this program, healthcare professionals from Foch Hospital will share their expertise in oncology with local practitioners, fostering an ongoing exchange. Specialised training courses, provided in France and Benin, as well as remote consultations with these teams, will complete this support system for the sustainable improvement of oncology care.
The pharmaceutical teams at Foch Hospital will also play a key role, contributing their expertise in chemotherapy preparation, stock management and the revision of hygiene protocols.
Strengthening medical infrastructures to improve oncology care in Benin
The partnership also includes a component devoted to strengthening the medical infrastructures of the CNHU-HKM and CHU Mère-Enfant centres. It provides for the installation of state-of-the-art equipment, the improvement of cancer treatment infrastructures, and the implementation of cancer prevention and early detection programs.
Through this collaboration, Hôpital Foch reaffirms its commitment to protecting global health and its ambition to share its expertise in oncology to transform patients’ lives.
